Think Your Child Might Have Eating Disorder

When your child or teen has an eating disorder like anorexia, bulimia, or ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) you may feel afraid, guilty, angry, or simply flummoxed. They may be tempted to “leave it to the professionals,” since this is such a potentially dangerous condition. The thing is, young people need their their parents to help them overcome disordered eating, whether they want the help or not. And parents need information and concrete guidance to help their child recover as quickly as possible!

I provide that guidance at cmwconsulting.help through Spoonful of Courage, my parent coaching service. There, I provide the support, encouragement, information, and expert guidance parents need as they respond to this potentially life limiting health crisis. My coaching is rooted in lived experience as a parent of daughter who survived a long battle with anorexia. That means NO JUDGEMENT toward parents, cause I have been there! I combine that with an understanding of neurobiology, and two evidence-based treatments for kids with eating disorers: Family-Based Treatment for Anorexia and Yale University’s S.P.A.C.E.
